Coming into Island Park Idaho you’ll see our sign welcoming you to the city! On that sign it declares that you are about to drive down the longest main street in America.(great photo op and only a few blocks south of our general store)

Island Park wasn’t incorporated until 1947 primarily so businesses could avoid some of the liquor laws that come with incorporation. You’ll notice the city of Island Park is very long and very narrow. Even with it’s small population Island Park has a very long footprint and a lot of great sites to see.

Some websites say the longest main street in America is in Vermont and around 7.5 miles long. We say that is nothing! Our main street is about 33 miles long.
