Island Park offers some of the world’s best fly fishing and Last Chance Texaco and General Store stocks exactly what you need to throw that perfect cast and catch your next big trout! Depending on the season we usually stock the following fly fishing equipment:

• Fly fishing waders (men’s waders, women’s waders, kid’s waders)
• Fly fishing flies (i.e caddis, hoppers, wooly buggers, may flies, green and brown drakes, pale morning duns, nymphs, salmon flies, and more) click here to learn more about some of the flies used in island park
• Fly fishing leader and tippet (2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x)
• Fly fishing vests and other equipment such as fly boxes, fishing nets, floatant, tackle boxes, and fly fishing wading boots

Some of the best places to fly fish are within a short drive from our store and the Henry’s Fork is just across the street offering blue ribbon world famous fly fishing. Box Canyon, the Madison River, Warm River, Gallatin River, Firehole, Gibbon River and the Fall River all offer great places to test your skills. Yellowstone is a short drive away and has some spectacular fishing options!

Ice Fishing Store and Supplies (inside Last Chance Texaco and General Store)
Once the ice gets thick enough (sometimes as early as mid to late December) you can venture out on some of the areas lakes searching for lake trout and other species. Island Park Reservoir and Henry’s lake are both popular ice fishing spots! You will need a few items to have a great day on the ice and we sell most of the supplies you might need including:

• Ice Fishing Augers (to drill a hole through the ice)
• Ice fishing rods and reels (usually much smaller and more sensitive than regular bait poles – ours start at just $24.99 for a rod and reel combo)
• Ice Fishing Bait (we carry live bait and usually stock fresh earthworms, mealworms, and waxworms)
